Saturday night was our date night this last week!
We spent the first half of our evening meeting fellow bloggers at a SoCal Back to School Blogger Bash in Huntington Beach.
It was a great evening of matching up names with faces that we've met online and meeting new friends in this crazy blogger teacher world.
Aris, me, Hadar, and Jonathan |
It was hosted by Hadar of Miss Kindergarten, Christy from Crayons and Whimsy, and Aris from Sailing into Second.
Kristen, Carol, John, Hadar (head), Christy, me, and Jonathan |
Jonathan & John |
My hubby liked having another secondary teacher guy and to talk with.
Peggy, Pauline, & me |
I had a great conversation about why we do what we do with Peggy Means from Primary Flourish & Pauline Pretz from First Grade by the Sea. They have hearts for the Lord and radiate peace and joy.
Kristen Walker of Easy Teaching Tools made a cookie for everyone with her card attached. That was a delicious take home to help us remember her. We love cookies. (This is foreshadowing for our next Rafflecopter coming up . . . if I bluntly hint in a parenthetical thought is it still foreshadowing? Anyway, lovers of cookies, stay tuned.)
Kristen, from The Imagination Nook, and I really hit it off great. This was our first time meeting. I wish I would have seen her 7 Days of Creation Book before we met. It would have brought up even more topics of discussion that we have in common. We didn't even realize it. :-)
Kristen and I with a posing progression to show we were having fun. |
It really was fun. |
After this lovely dinner we headed over to see The Giver movie.
We love this book and all the deep themes that it addresses. Jonathan has taught this novel for quite a few years. His teaching unit is our best-selling item in our store.
I must say, I enjoyed the book better than the movie. The best part of the movie were the film clip montages (memories) that evoked lots of emotions in me as a viewer, as is fitting with the story.
It was a great date night!
